The First Church of Christ in Garrett, Indiana is an independent New Testament church. This local church was established in the early 1900's as part of the Restoration Movement.

We recognize that God is the Head of the church.  In the New Testament, we read where God established an organization system of church leadership. As a local church was established in the New Testament, a plurality of Elders within the church were appointed to give spiritual leadership.  This is the leadership model that we follow.

We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word and is our guide for faith and practice. Therefore, if it is in the Bible, we believe it. In matters of faith we have unity; in matters of opinion we have flexibility; and in all things we have love.
